CLUB NEEDS MONEY? Yes. Raise dues? No. Have a raffle? Ugh. Does this sound all too familiar? Through the years modeling clubs have tried all types of fund-raising projects including raffles, fun flies, contests, and so forth. The idea of an auction/swap shop is by no means a new one, but it is certainly one of the most fun and most participated-in events a club can sponsor. We at Roanoke Valley Radio Control are about to present our 5th Annual Wintertime Aution and Swap Shop and would like to share with clubs around the country some of our experiences. What we will attempt to do is offer some suggestions and some dos and don'ts as we perceive them. But first-a brief history of our little success story.
