Technical Director Steve Kaluf Ever notice incredible influx technology model aviation Think back early 70s RC transmitters very simple Mixing What about transmitters can store settings multiple airplanes Right . OK hook up Defense Departments computer . maybe Coreless servo motors Brushless motors No waynot possible Four-stroke enginesthey will never catch Composite construction Oh sureif have huge pocketbook building Space Shuttle Doesnt sound too far-fetched anymore does fact got wonderful hobby 80s 90s youre probably wondering what heck Im babbling about month month scan pages various modeling magazines see what hold new month Im amazed what items nothing sort serious gec whiz wonders can see others have evolved over last several years Taking look November 1996 Model Aviation thought Id cruise through point out some items feel fall categories Airtronics introduced new Stylus radio system 1996 think What neat system Eight channels programmable plug-in memory cards card holds software tailor transmitter specific needs type aircraft desire fly Helicopters gliders aerobatics provided have models have transmitters No problem Stylus can handle about 50 models special memory card Ever wonder what rpm engine turning what its temperature about air Engine Data Logger II AeroSport can tell information first saw unit use 95 Mid-America Challenge held Muncie AT-6 drivers would land after race plug something looked like hand-held calculator side aircraft Once got nosy enough go see what doing impressed unit will play back inflight rpm engine temperature up 30 minutes running time Talk about being able dialin engine propeller Representatives AeroSport competing race sold out uaits end weekend got installed overnight found use during next days racing Want get inflight information aircraft
